Hi, I’m Laurie M. Rauch and I play with code.
I run Code Diva, which specializes in WordPress theme development and coaching, and Tech Pretty, where I sell custom WordPress themes. I’ve also taught all sorts of web design-related classes at both Sheridan College and Seneca College. So, I spend a lot of time reading, writing, and thinking about code. This is a place for me to find new stuff, share cool stuff, and talk code with people who love it — or want to love it — the way I do.
This blog came about while I was researching a topic one of the classes I was teaching. I found a blog post that gave part of the information I needed, but was missing a major component of the process. So, I headed down to the comments to see if someone else had asked the questions I had… and they had. Only, the blog author responded with a comment along the lines of ‘If you don’t know this, you’re too stupid to read my blog.’ (Sadly, he really did call the commenter stupid). Beyond how offensive this author was to his audience, if multiple people have the same question, I’d say your post is not as informative or helpful as you think it is.
This is not that kind of blog. This is a place where you are never too stupid to read my blog, you are never too stupid to try something new, and you can ask all the questions you like. If I don’t have the answer, I’ll either find it for you or I’ll point you in the right direction.
So stick around and let’s have some fun with code…
